The Netherlands
The Netherlands is where our journey began. Living in Zoeterwoude and working at Heineken was very convenient. All our children were born in Zoeterwoude.
Vivienne had her own practice for 'Oefentherapie-Mensendieck' at home and we had a great time.
Then Heineken offered us the opportunity to work and live in Warsaw, Poland in 2001 and we decided to go for the adventure.....
Poland
In 2001 we moved to Warsaw. Rob started working for Grupa Zywiec. The children went to the British School. In the beginning it was difficult to express themselves in English. They had to wear school uniforms, which they were not used to. We lived in Ulica Rozana and after a year we moved to Ul Janzcarow, which was closer to the school. Warsaw was a great experience but then Heineken asked us to move to Munich, Germany.

Germany
In 2005 we arrived in Ammerland at the Starnberger See. This area southwest of Munich is a real holiday destination. In summer great weather, excellent living at a lake and in winter in 30 minutes in Garmisch or Lermoos for great skiing and of course the Oktoberfest. We had a lot of visitors from the Netherlands, since we were a perfect stopover on the way to their holiday destinations.
Belgium
We moved to Avenue du Belier in Waterloo, Belgium in 2009 . We lived around the corner of St John's International School, the children could walk to school. It was nice to be relatively close to the Netherlands so we could oft visit family and friends. Waterloo is in the Wallonia part of Belgium, it is French speaking which really gave us a feeling of living abroad.

Finland
In 2012 we arrived in Helsinki, our most Northern post so far. Rob went already end of 2011 and lived in Säästöpankinranta. For the first time we decided to live in the city center in the 'Design District', in Ratakatu in an apartment on the 5th floor. Only Noa and Hugo joined us, Jack stayed in Belgium for his last year of IB and Robin started her University in Maastricht.

Austria
In 2014 our next stop was Lange Gasse in Vienna, Austria. Although Rob worked in Linz which is 2 hours one-way, we still decided for the beautiful city Vienna. Vienna is a vibrant city, there is always something to do, but on the other hand very traditional and sticking to how things were done for generations. 'When the world comes to an End go to Vienna there it will happen 20 years later'
Nigeria
We arrived in Lagos on July 29th, 2018. Our big wish has come true, finally a country outside Europe. Lagos is a harbour city in Nigeria, Africa with 20 million inhabitants. It is one of the fastest growing cities in the world. It will be our first post where we are together. All children are now studying/working in different countries in the world. Our new home is on Banana Island. We are looking forward to this exiting experience.
