* There are 36 states in Nigeria and Lagos State is the smallest.This is despite the fact that it hosts one of the most popular cities in Nigeria- Lagos City.
* Lagos remains the most populous city in Nigeria with 22 million inhabitants. 1200 new people arrive here daily.

*It has the tallest building in West Africa. NECOM House Towers is 160 meters above the city.
​
*Nollywood is centered in Lagos. Nearly all the acting scenes in Nigerian movies are filmed in here.
​
*Lagos has more millionaires than any other state in Nigeria.
​
*Lagos handles 80% of the country's import. Located in the Southwest beach line of Nigeria,
​
* It has a floating city; Makoko, which has been built over the water. People use waterways to travel through the city.
*The state of Lagos is considered to be among the fastest growing states in the world.
​
*The third mainland bridge is the longest bridge in Africa that connects mainland Lagos with the Lagos Island. It was openend in 1990 and the bridge is 11,8km long.
