The Nigerian trip as is meant to be; one full of mishaps and misfortune and, yet beyond any doubt, fun! This began before even arriving into the country... As almost anyone has experienced, beaucracy can be excruciating and getting a visa to enter Nigeria certainly proved the point! Having travelled four times to London, which takes over an hour to get to, with nothing but a 300 quid bill proves that. This was finally resolved by withdrawing the application, starting anew in the Netherlands, and finally getting a paper to enter the country. Baggage claim in Lagos airport was tediously slow, traffic was a-la Lagos, but the traveling was certainly worthwhile. It was wonderful to see the parents, Glory, Yinka, Ali, and my personal favourite (sorry everyone) Ayo. Other mishaps include but are not limited to walking to a glass door (didn't notice it...), a lot of time on the toliet (sorry if you consider that tmi), and sunburns. However, an accidental utterance best explains how I felt about this trip, I called the apartment in which Rob and Viv live, a hotel. In all honesty, it felt and remains to be a marvellous holiday! Seeing local markets, dinners, little chit chats, beach houses, and more ought to suffice as proof. If possible, I would instantaneously return. I wouldn't mind being 30 years old and still living with my parents if living here (I.e. living in the basement)!
