This week the schools have started in Lagos. Great for the children maybe even better for the parents to have a bit of a rest again after a few months of summer break. What does this has to do with the traffic, apparently everything, it sucks. That's what it does. Normally traffic would go slow when there was rain, a lot of rain, streets turn into little rivers. This week I went for a lunch and it took me two hours to get home. I just checked it on google maps the distance is 4.8 km, you can do this in twenty minutes. There's one bridge connecting Ikoyi with Victoria Island and this is the bridge we have to use.
What have I learned? First of all; always pee before you get in the car. Perhaps don't drink to much during lunch.... Bring your iPad or a book in the car, so you have something to read. And last but not least leave a charger in the car. Now my phone went dead, nothing to read, and needed a wee so badly. Ali decided to take "a few" side roads, these roads are full with pits, nothing is smooth, great for my bladder! O what a journey, believe me I was so happy to see our yellow and blue building on Banana Island, I made it.....in time.
